Things of gold come to those who wait but surely nothing this good can ever stay. Vivid are the visions of carnage that repeat in my mind at inopportune times. I've heard too many eulogies of young love and what never got to be, please don't let that be us. We need to at least have the option, take care of ourselves and remember to eat. I'll avoid driving when I'm tired, don't forget your meds, try to get more sleep. I'm so happy we could die and I would smile though it's over. I'm so cynical but I swear I'm trying at the moment. Things of gold come to those who wait but nothing this good can ever stay. We need to at least have the option, take care of ourselves and remember to eat. I'll avoid driving when I'm tired, don't forget your meds, try to get more sleep. I remember that one bus ride home, the whole way you slept on my shoulder. We never got some time alone, maybe we will when we’re older. I can’t say what will happen next. That makes me smile and it brings me hope. I’ll build our house if you make it our home.

Can I be there when you need someone Without being the one you need Cause I know I can’t be right for you When nothing’s right with me I just need to know that I can And need you to know that I might Just leave You’re a lightning bug I’m a bug light Or worse, I’m just like a kid That keeps on catching fireflies But forgets to put holes in the lid For now, my jar seems to be enough But the sticks and the leaves will eventually wither And you will still be stuck In the meantime I'll still be there When you tell me you can't sleep Kiss your forehead in the morning Pull the blanket back over your feet Always knowing I would But starting to doubt that I could Just leave So i'm Holding my breath While I wait for the day When you decide what you want me to be But the time we have left Is dependent upon You knowing that will never be me So I'm holding my breath While I wait for the day When you realize what a mistake You had made When you found yourself here in the first place Well if that day never comes Then I guess I’ll never leave But if it does, then please Don’t say I didn’t warn you I know I didn’t warn you Please stop saying I didn’t warn you I don’t need reminded that I didn’t warn you
